Mafia Championship Has Returned; Who Will be RDG's Hero?

Hello everyone,

We’ve been once again invited to a cross-community event by Mafia Universe (www.mafiauniverse.com/forums/), a pretty big Mafia website.

They are organizing a Mafia Championship (Season 7) and have 320+ different communities (over 133 than last year!) send a representative to play a Mafia game, like a tournament.

Some important details:
- We need to pick a representative and a back-up before April 27.

- Activity requirement: “Your representative should be prepared for having to read upwards of 500-600 posts per 24 hours during the early stages of the game. Additionally, there’s a requirement that each player must make at least 10 posts per Game Day.”

- There's several games that will be played by a representative; 10 qualifier games, a semifinal game, and then the finale.

In the past, we've had BleedingRayne participate, so if anyone has any specific questions to ask her about participating, please feel free to do so here!

- Winners are chosen by vote from the other players. We aren't as new anymore, so let's have fun with this! 

- The MU Championship will likely have games throughout April, May and June for qualifier games.
- The MU Championship will likely have games through July for the semifinals.
- The MU Championship will likely have games through August and September for the finale.

I will nominate the people that I think are active and may be helpful. Of course I am going to include myself because I have time to post (it is a lot). I would also like to nominate Spelly and Rayne, even though I don't know if they have the time to post the minimum amount. I will also nominate Degree, even though he hasn't been as active. I think, if Sicario wants, I think they would be a good player. I know they are knew, but all games we've played together, I found them to be a really good player! And that's all!

While I am very grateful for the nomination and kind words from @panda, I will pass! I've only played Mafia in person with cards, and I'm not familiar with the Mafia community. I am interested in watching/reading the event, though! It sounds really cool.

I would like to nominate Ponchi and Panda. They've been pretty active in the few games I've played and I've never not enjoyed a game with them in it. \o/

With my experience playing on MU, my observations:

1. The environment is much more hectic, free time is crucial
2. if you fall behind, you stay behind for a long time
3. it's hard to adjust at first, but you'll get used to it by around the end of day 2 (hopefully)
4. pick the longer time formats, you will not regret it
5. I can send some articles and indexes of useful information/terms/past games/etc if you want help adjusting to the new format + UI + pace

With all that said, here's my view on the 3 choices.

Rayne - Already played last year, played a good game, and would only be able to improve with a years worth of hindsight. Their posts already fit more with MU games than a lot of RD players.

Panda - Reads would be a mixed translation to the MU way, I'm worried that unless immersed before the game they would get lol!town'd and get shoved out of the race to move past first round.

Degree - I've rarely seen Degree play, can't fairly judge. Seems like they have the temperament and experience to make reads that would do well.

Wouldn't mind any of the Three, but I view Rayne as having the best odds due to last years experience.

This is kind of late, but thank you for the nomination! I'll be pretty busy so I decided to pass too. This is a good time to do a little research for future games though! :3

I voted for Panda because Rayne went last year, even though I think Rayne would have probably done a better job. lol
