Welcome to the Second Round!
Game 2: Chase the Jester!
The Objective of the Game
You and five other people comprise a single team with 1 "Hider" and 5 "Seekers" that must thwart the other team while also searching for articles of Jester's clothing.
The Hider must find and put on all these pieces of the outfit:
Jester's Hat
Jester's Shirt
Jester's Pants
Jester's Shoes
Jester's Cane
The Seekers must help their Hider in any way possible while trying to catch the other team's Hider.
Goal
Your team wins when you obtain the full outfit or if you have the most articles of clothing by the end of the 25-30 turns.
[Number of turns is negotiable]
Setting and Teams
Building Creds: Degree .
Cuddly Animal Photo Creds: Amie .
Hiders can start in any room they want.
Seekers must start at the end of hallways. However, two seekers on the same team cannot be in the same side of the hallway.
Team A can have someone in G-Left Staircase with someone on Team B.
But Team B cannot have two people waiting in 2F-Right Staircase.
You can have Team B have one person at each side of one floor.
Actions
1st Action = Moving.
Each "turn" you will be able to move a limited number of spaces across each floor. Some actions take up more "movements" then others.
The "Hider" can move up to 3 spaces each turn.
The "Seeker" must move up to 2 spaces each turn.
The Stairwell and Elevator both count as a space.
Example: "I want to move from G-Stairs to G-2." That would be 2 spaces.
Using the stairs to go up and down requires 2 movements for Seekers and 1 movement for Hiders.
Using the Elevator is special. Seekers can move up or down the Elevator, making it significantly faster than using the stairs. Only three people can use the Elevator at a time. The Elevator will always read where it is at, so if you are one space away or at the Elevator, you can know where it is. When your turn ends inside of the Elevator, you will be forced out onto the floor you chose. You will not be able to use the Elevator for consecutive turns.
UPDATE: I'll make this easier and clear. Taking the Elevator costs one of your movement spaces.
Player A moves from Door 6F-3 to Elevator, then takes Elevator down to 2F. Turn ends.
Player B was already at Elevator, goes down, gets off and makes a move to Door G-4. Turn ends. (Keep in mind that you can't check this room in this scenario)
Also, you can only navigate double your movement with the elevator.
Seekers can move between four floors from their original spot.
Hiders can move between 6 floors from their original spot.
Moving to each room on the floor costs 1 movement for everyone.
Checking a room costs 1 movement for everyone.
The Seekers are allowed to pass by any other player unless "Blocking" is initiated.
The Hider cannot pass by the Seekers if they aren't on the same team.
UPDATE: Only one hider and one seeker can share the same space if they are on the same team and are passing along clothes. Hiders must have room to put on their new clothes, of course, and so they can't be crowded around. Basically, if two seekers holding clothes tries to land on the same spot as the hider, it is an invalid move. They must take turns to put on different articles of clothing.
2nd Action = Checking.
The action of Checking is available to all players and requires only 1 movement for the action.
If a Hider checks a room and an article of clothing is found, they obtain the clothes immediately upon finding.
If a Seeker checks a room and finds an article of clothing -- this is important -- they can pick it up. HOWEVER, they must find their hider and give it to them.
UPDATE: The Seeker can only pass it off to the hider if they land on the same space.
Seekers can pass clothes off to other Seekers if they land on the same space.
There are no movement penalties for holding or wearing the Jester's Clothes. Kind of... [Refer to 'Traps']
3rd Action = Blocking.
This is a Seeker only ability!
If your hider is being chased (or if not) then you are allowed to block the Hallway! Blocking will stop any opposing Seeker in their tracks. The next turn, if you chose to Block, you will not be allowed to move because you are tired from utilizing your Herculean strength. You can only block one person at a time.
UPDATE: If you land on the same space as an opposing Seeker, you are also allowed to block them from moving at the cost of your next turn.
Round 1 - Block
Round 2 - Rest
Round 3 - Move again
etc
4th Action = Catching.
Once again, a Seeker only ability!
If the Seeker lands on the same space as a Hider, they can catch the Hider.
Note: If the Hider is caught with any of the Jester's clothing, the article is put into a "random" room that you'll be given a clue to.
If the Hider is blocked and can't move their maximum number of spaces either way, they are automatically caught going into the next phase. But one of the opposing team is forced to move to the Hider's space.
If a Seeker wants to catch another Seeker who is holding clothing, then you need two Seekers to land on the same space as this Seeker. If they have clothing: you take it and it goes back to the original room. If they don't: you lose a turn.
5th Action = Headstart.
This is a Hider only ability!
If a Hider is spotted by a Seeker, they get one free sudden movement in the opposite direction. [They don't need to use this ability.] It only happens once every new running cycle. By this I mean if the Hider gets caught, then the ability resets.
Even though they are called a Hider, keep in mind that the Hider is obvious. They will stand out from the other players, so finding them is just as important as catching them!
6th Action = Hiding.
This is a Hider only ability!
A hider can choose to stay inside of a room if they so choose. They will only have the choice to hide after they choose to check a room. If your action stops outside of a room, you must stay in the hallway.
A Seeker is not allowed to stay inside of a room when they check it. They are always forced back into the hallway after checking.
Items
Clues (2) - Some rooms will have clues that will point you to where the missing articles of clothing are.
Traps (5) - There will be three kinds of traps. These are one use items and each team will decide which article of clothing has what traps.
Slowdown (2) = -1 Movement to whoever picks up the clothing for two turns.
Alarm (2) = For the next two turns, everyone is alerted to the room that the clothing was located in.
Visibility = The player who picks this up will be revealed on the map for the next three turns. It won't be indicated if they are a Hider or a Seeker until you spot them.

General Turn Rules
- A team will be able to discuss their actions with each other.
- Me and my helper will do our best to inform you of certain actions--
"You spot the hider [Player A] down the Hallway, past the elevator!"
"You see another teammate exit the elevator."
"The hider escapes to the stairwell [won't tell you which way]!"
But this is all individual perspective. We will record where you guys go and will alert you when certain things happen around you. It is up to you to inform your team of what you see.
- Turns are finished after both teams move.
- The team who moves first will be decided before the game begins.
- Both teams will have their own private room and will get to choose their own team name.
- You move individually or if someone consents to being moved by someone else. One person deciding it all without discussing with their team will not work!
- Also...If everyone on your team has decided on their move and a considerable amount of time has passed, I will skip your turn if you are absent.
- Teams will personally pick their own hider.
- Please inform me or my helpers if you have any questions!! If I forgot anything, I will let you guys know.
