[SPOILERS]
So, I recently finished watching H2O Delirious' game play of a PS4 exclusive, Until Dawn. It is an interactive game that allows you to control 8 "protagonists," and each decision you make determines the character you are controlling's fate or other characters' fate. One decision could allow one of the 8 to live, but it could also kill the other one of the 8.
[SPOILERS I WARNED YOU]
The mini synopsis goes 8 friends get together in a remote getaway mountain for fun. However, no one would expect to find terror throughout the night. A psycho is somewhere roaming around the area, but at the same time, murders are happening out of nowhere. It turns out one of the main characters is playing a prank. If it is all a prank, why are some people dead?
Basically, it would be cool if someone could incorporate this theme/story into a game. Of course, there will be some changes to make the game fun or more doable.
Roles and their RDG counterparts
Rules: Do not show proof such as screenshots of your role. People can reveal their roles, but it is not guaranteed they are telling the truth. Everyone must fulfill their roles. If you are assigned a role, but you do the opposite, consequences will be met by the GMs. It is required to vote and stay active. Same rules apply.
Wendigos - wolves. These are cannibalistic monsters that were once humans. (wolf win)
Supporting/friends - rabbits (rabbit win)
Protagonist #1 - rabbit who has influence. This influence can force people to do something within the game such as force vote/retract or force kill/injure with only [# of uses can be determined]. [See protagonist #2 & 3] PM the GM, so that the GM will PM the person the P#1 forced to do. (rabbit win)
Protagonist #2 - rabbit who has the "gun." One who holds the gun can choose who to kill good or bad with [# of uses]. PM the GM of your choice. (rabbit win)
Protagonist #3 - rabbit who has the baseball bat. One who holds the bat can choose who to injure, allowing that person to stay silent for one round with [# of uses]. That person is not allowed to talk or vote or do anything that is game-related for one round. PM the GM of your choice. (rabbit win)
Protagonist #4 - psycho rabbit who plays a messed-up prank. The role is to take three people and assign them the roles of two victims and judge. The psycho must PM the GM their three chosen and their roles. The GM must create a separate PM of the three. If chosen as judge, he or she must choose which person to kill out of the two victims. If chosen as victim, you must try to convince the judge to let you live. [2 uses] However, if people found out you are the psycho, your role will no longer apply to you, and you are demoted as supporting role. (wolf win. If revealed, rabbit win.)
Protagonist #5 - rabbit who knows self-defense of all types such as martial arts, weaponry, or just simply great at surviving. If anyone aims at this person, their "powers" will not work. However, as a consequence, the one who aims at this person will have his or her role revealed in public in the next round. On the other hand, they cannot survive the rabbit hanging. Powers work throughout the game. (rabbit win)
Protagonist #6 - rabbit "in the story." This role is special. If this version is a playable console game, this role is who you are controlling. He or she has a big responsible of choosing how the story progresses. This person is able to choose what options are given. However, each options can determine someone's fate by saving or killing. [See GMs for more info]. This is pretty much a solo role, but asking for help isn't against the rules. However, IF EVERYONE HANGS YOU, OR A RABBIT KILLED YOU, THE GAME IS COMPLETELY OVER. NO ONE WINS. IF THE WOLVES EAT YOU, THE GAME IS COMPLETELY OVER. THE WOLVES WIN. BE CAREFUL WHO YOU TRUST. (rabbit win)
Protagonist #7 - rabbit who specializes in medic and assistance. This role allows the person to protect a random person from dying/being injured/being picked including oneself. [# of uses] (rabbit win)
Protagonist #8 - rabbit who visits the morgue. This role allows the person to have access to the deadchat. However, if Protagonist #6 messes up, Protagonist #8 will permanently be in the deadchat. That means he dies. (rabbit win)
Starving human - hungry rabbit who will transform into a wendigo overtime throughout the game if not killed. Potential extra wolf. They know who the wolves are. (wolf win)
GMs - The gods and goddesses of the universe. The story-teller and bystander. On the 19th-23rd hour of the hanging (one to five hours before the next round), they must edit the hanging and post a prediction that have happened during the hanging in order for Protagonist #6 to choose options that will progress the story. [See Protagonist #6]
For example, during the hanging, a wolf has chosen Zeref while the psycho kidnaps a Amie. The GM PMs protagonist #6 the predictions and options during the closing of the hanging. The predictions will not determine who, but only what. The GM gives a number of options.
How the PM goes.
You hear a howling gruesome sound from the dark skies followed by a cry of help. Frightened by the disturbing sound, you backed away, but at the same time, you are curious. You follow the sound regardless. Upon walking down the deep forest, you found a trail of blood getting heavier and heavier. Suddenly, you look up and see a huge figure holding a slightly shorter figure on the ground. The person on the ground weakly yells help. You found a gun somewhere around the area that was dropped few rounds ago.
a) pick up the gun and shoot the larger figure in the head
b) pick up the gun and shoot the gas canisters
c) do nothing and run away
d) attack the large figure
If P#6 chose A, then in the next round, it is revealed that P#6 has killed the psycho.
If P#6 chose B, then in the next round, it is revealed that P#6 has killed the psycho and Amie.
If P#6 chose C, then in the next round, the trial between two innocents happened and one died while Amie lives.
If P#6 chose D, then in the next round, P#6 and psycho are engaged in a fight to which the psycho got away, saving Amie.
Goals for Rabbits to win: Eliminate all wendigos and wendigo potentials. Keep Protagonist #6 alive. Trust no one, but keep the ones you want alive.
Goals for Wolves to win: Eliminate everyone who is a rabbit. Kill Protagonist #6.
Protagonists are allowed to form their own group if they are confident who is who. Just be careful who to trust. However, please keep it PM form and not Skype. Include the GM in it too. Skype group chats are not banned, but most of the conversation should be within the PM.
Now I know what I provided has too much information to process, so if you have questions, I'll be glad to answer. I would like to mention that this theme/story game requires a lot of activity and going online so many times to check back and forth for some people. The GMs do need to be very active in order to pay attention throughout. If the GMs are unable to squeeze this theme somewhere, I'll be glad to use this if/when I am temp GMing. I am also aware that this theme game also requires big attention. And.... I may have jumbled random things, so I may have lost you. This is similar to EpicMafia or Mafia if you even heard of it.
So yeah, here is my potential theme game thingy.
