Hey everyone, Scavenger here. After quite some time of building and repairing many computers both old and new, I finally managed to get around to making myself a gaming rig. I was just curious if anyone else happens to have a common interest in tinkering or gaming PC's. If you built or have a gaming computer, what are you running for a build? What do you like to play? Any preferences for monitor setups, mice, keyboards, offhand keypads, ect.? Favorite brands maybe? I'd love to see what you guys are into. Or if you wish just ask some questions.
I'll post up my newest builds specs for the hell of it, and i encourage anyone else to do the same if they wish. I think itll be a cool topic. Anyway here, I went with an AMD based build to save money, since if im to go Intel id rather buy higher end intel parts instead of theyre lower end stuff. My opinion is that if you can afford the really expensive stuff then go all intel if you want, where as for an average budget build intel or AMD is fine, but for lower budgets id suggest AMD since you can usually construct a full pc for less. Also considering personal preference its all up to the individual. Budgets not in consideration both companys can obtain great results regardless. Really is personal preference and priming. So heres what i decided on.
CPU: AMD FX-8350, 4.0 Ghz 8-core
GPU: Gigabyte AMD Radeon R9 290, 4GB DDR5
MOBO: ASRock 990FX Killer AM3+
RAM: 2x 4GB G.Skill Sniper low voltage RAM DDR3 1600
Storage: 120GB Kingston SSD (for now at least, also have random HDD's lying around)
PSU: EVGA 600 Watt, 80+ (it'll do for now)
Case: Cougar Challenger - Black (great mid tower case for the price, very adjustable for different sized cards and such. Its set up to use a water cooling system if you want, or just use fans as I am at the moment. Also i dig the look lol.)
Monitor: Asus VN247H-P, 23.6" LED backlit LCD
Mouse: Logitech G600 laser mouse. (Great mouse all around and great MMO mouse thanks to its side pad, which is set up beautifully if i may add.)
Keyboard: Uh...yeah...its got keys...on a rectangle. Not too fancy, keyboard shaped object, does the job, and signifies where my budget ran dry lol.
Well I think thats nearly everything haha
