At one time I think there was going to be a role play (hence forth abbreviated to RP) version of the game. Lovova was to be asked questions about it in the rules. I guess I always wondered a few things
1. What ever happened to the idea?
2. Was it going to be a separate game or a game type mixed in?
Along with those questions I would like to suggest giving it a try as a separate game.
Rough form of the game:
1. It is not a normal game. Ie. posting things like some was like this the last time they were a wolf would be bad. But instead have the GM or in this case SM (Story master) take an active hand in setting scenes and creating actions.
2. Play it out like the manga. There are no votes per say but instead if you want someone dead then kill them. The wolves can act in secret through the SM who would also post wolf actions. Obviously the players of the wolves would have to come up with convenient reasons to separate to kill though.
3. Do not relegate it to rounds but care should be taken to not have the wolves go on a blood bath killing spree in the first 5 mins. you could separate it into fictitious days and the wolves do not even have to kill every day or if there is 2 wolves that does not mean there must be 2 kills either.
Set up:
Each person wanting to play could make a character sheet and post a public profile post of that character. The sheet would be sent in to the SM and the public profile would be information someone could gather about them just by meeting them briefly.
-No God modding. ie somewhat based on real people no magic wolf finding powers, ect.
-No declaring you are the wolf the SM would chose and it could be random or whoever fits the scenario he/she wants to play out.
The SM Would put up a background post. Either in the game or separate, so people could ask questions with out ruining the RP. This would include location and why those who have gathered are there. It does not have to exactly match the manga, but any special information should be included like the bar codes from the manga.
Playing the game:
We could do it like a normal RP and just have posts of words and actions, but I think it would work even better if we mixed in a little of Crackshot's D&D idea in and allowed people to run checks on if they were able to do something sneaky or who would win in a fight. Players would get X amount of points before the game for their character sheet for things like strength/stealth/perception/others and that would be used by the SM to determine if something gets noticed or not. Players would have to ignore anything that they failed on like noticing someone sneaking out in the middle of the night unless there character could have found out some other way.
I do not see this so much as a normal game per say but an interesting thing to have some extra fun with.
I welcome any comments on this idea. Any answers to the two questions I asked. Or any discussions on better ways to try and do this.
