I kinda wanted to do this for a while. As a new player, I am writing this for new players now and to come. Here are all the tips I have gleamed from my 2 games and from reading the previous ones. The tips are in descending order of importance, so only do 2 if it dosen't interfere with 1.
The Golden Rule:
Tips:[/b]
If you read this far, I thank you. Now remember the Golden Rule and don't trust everything you read in this post at face value. If you would like to add a tip, change a tip, tell me I am brilliant ;), or tell me this is the dumbest thing ever :'(. Please feel free to do so.
To the GMs, I hope this is: 1.) in the right place and 2.) okay. Let me know if you want it deleted. But as a new player myself I kinda wanted a thread like this.
The Golden Rule:
Trust no one. Ever. Never take anything posted at face value, and question all evidence and arguments.
Tips:[/b]
1.) Never ninja vote - If you are innocent it makes you look guilty, wastes a precious rabbit vote killing you off, and serves almost no good ever. Even if you are busy, it only takes a minute to post "I am voting for x, got to run to class, will answer any questions later."
2.) Try not to be annoying to the vast number of people. Rabbits get hanged for that and wolves love the emotions. Everyone does not have to love you, but generally not trolling, flaming, double posting (The modify button exists for a reason. Use it, love it.), and just trying to piss people off will get you hung. (Lyon seems to be an exception to this rule)
3.) Everyone wears masks in life, doubly so on the internet and triply so in an internet game like this. Try to see the truth behind the mask.
4.) You are a cuddly woodland creature, a rabbit. Try not to also be a sheep. I will assume you are playing this game to have fun. Well play, make your own decisions, look at the facts from your own perspective, and be wrong or right by your own hand. If you agree with someone say so, but say why you agree. You can agree but not be a sheep. A sheep is just someone who votes since someone on longer then them says someone else is a wolf. Sheep get good Rabbits killed.
5.) Secret alliances are generally better left to the wolves. They know who they are, the rabbits don't. There is nothing in a pm you can say to convenience me that you are 100% innocent. You can ask for my help or for me to look at someone, but If I suspect you I will use it against you. As will the other rabbits.
6.) Play your game the way you want. If you look suspicious, you will not save yourself changing your style mid-game. You will only draw more attention of the bad kind and die. You may as well play the game how you like then. If you like your gut feelings, go for it. If you like to analyze, go for it. If all you want to do is post cute pictures and sharp comebacks, well then Echi will have some company.
7.) Never be afraid to ask or state anything. There is no dumber post then the one not written. (Please do not go out of your way to prove me wrong.)
8.) Always realize an active wolf sees everything you see and probably understands more about the current game than you do. The wolf has the upper hand. Only by the rabbits working together and talking can they hope to catch him/her. (Lucky kills do happen, but not often enough.)
