I pat Randa on the shoulder, "Make the most of it, I don't think I'll be around much longer to help out. If you need to talk I'll help out while I can."
With a bittersweet smile I turn and walk towards April, curious. "April, what a lovely change of pace! You seem chipper than I've ever seen you. Care for a walk before the evening ends?"
What a pretty little mask you have there. Mind if I take a peek? See the real you for just one moment?

Slightly-Impressed April: "Don't get your hopes up. We aren't friends, mind you, and we still have a game to play." She paused for a moment, turning away by a hair. She was giving off a different air than before, Riley was correct in that. "Join me at the winner's table and I'll oblige your offer."
She then went off on her own. Nervous Jerry was still crying, clutching his cards as his doom approached. He was approaching anyone possible, begging for a game. Akiyama and April met and discussed having a match. But he said something extra peculiar for someone, who if the information checks out, was incredibly risky. He was willing to have a match wagering two stars, but April remained hesitant. She was close to agreeing but someone else could readily swoop in first.
I click my tongue and mumble to myself, "Meet you at the winner's table? There is one way..."
I scan the room for Boris. Smug and overconfident, a combination I can work with. I stroll up to him and offer a peculiar challenge. "Well Boris, since I'm down to one star why don't we make this game a little more interesting? I'll tell you what card I'm going to play. If you win, I lose 1 star like normal. If we draw then I'll take one of your stars. But, if I win you lose all your stars to me." Before he can respond I begin to lather it on, "Could you imagine the story? Mighty Boris, the first to defeat an enemy on the ship. He took on an overwhelming risk to secure his place among the victorious. Everyone on the ship would fear and respect you for singlehandedly sending someone to their demise!" I then turn with a flourish and continue the monologue loud enough for everyone to hear, "Or, perhaps you're nothing but a cowardly man-child who's too pathetic to even take on a risk that's so easy to win with? Go ahead, prove me wrong, take my life!"
I turn back to Boris. Entice his ego - check, insult his manliness - check, and make sure everyone is watching to stop him from backing down - check. I don't say anything more, I just gesture towards a table. I'm ready to start my danse macabre.

The Overconfident Boris had just finished a match with Relm, whom he drawed with. There was no change in his attitude, although the tone that this new challenger was using irked him.
Overconfident Boris: "You call that interesting? What do you take me for, a fool? You can pull that PUPPIES with greedy fools like him," he pointed a thumb toward Jerry. "But with me, you ain't getting none of that. Six stars for one measly, worthless star? There's no gain for me. Unless..."
It appeared that he went into deep thought. Something was turning inside his head.
"On second thought, let's play the game this way. It'll be three of my stars versus your one star. And I'll even give you that star if we draw. And I'll even give you a handicap too--see this?" He holds up a Scissors to show you. "This is what I plan to use. Do we have an agreement?"
Randa went to Riley with tears on his face and screaming on top of his lungs "THANK YOU SO MUCH. OMG THANK YOU. I'LL DO ANYTHING FOR YOU. THANK YOU FOR SAVING ME"
"With pleasure." I say and gesture to the table once more, "After you."
Overconfident Boris: "Then, here it is." He places the thick scissors card face down and shuffles his hands back. Nothing looked out of the ordinary, but he was Sly Boris for a reason. You couldn't imagine he wasn't trying another ruse. This guy could not play straight if his life counted on it.
Unless, that's what he wants you to think... He locks his card in.
"Hey Jerry, want to play" Rayne shouts from across the room.
Nervous Jerry comes rushing over to Rayne, gripping his cards tightly.
Nervous Jerry: "Yes, yes, let's play! Let's go!"
Although in his fretful panic, he dropped most of this cards. You could see that he was only missing a paper and scissors, and the simple-minded man could not think of any outwitting tactics. He locked in his choice, but you were overwhelmingly sure he was playing safe. His lack of risk-taking would be the metaphorically, or real, death of him. It had to be the only card he hasn't lost with (yet).
Nervous Jerry lost to Rayne! This means that Nervous Jerry becomes Panicked Jerry.
After the loss, he started muttering something to himself while holding his head in his hands. He ran off, looking to be completely in disarray. He was off to the bathrooms, planning to do something dramatic to help his chances.
I’ll just sit down and wait for an ai or person to approach.
April walked over to Relm and gestured toward their stars.
Slightly-Impressed April: "I've got a moment and some stars to spare. Let's make this simple, shall we?"
Although her face was quite stoney still, she had eased a bit and was even willing to be friendly to some others in the room. This is a change you were sure to notice. However, it was the only change you could notice, as she was the most emotionally resilient out of everyone else in this room. She struts over to a table and already places a card down, not willing to play mind games. Her card was locked in - though she needed an opponent.
This was a good suggestion. Although it appeared two people were locked into the games and a few others were busy not paying attention to the fool who had lost almost all his stars.
"We'll take care of it, Ma'am." One of the black-suited men said, taking a partner and following after Jerry. One moment longer without a friend, and something dramatic may happen.
As if he had any friends here. It was the Grand Espoir.
I let out a sigh of relief. Why do I do this to myself? I ponder. Regardless, there were more pressing matters to attend to. I ask the black-suited men if I may accompany them to check on poor Jerry.

The black-suited men saw no reason to interfere with the players, so they let you tag along. Riley managed to be ahead of them and saw Jerry hung over the toilet, attempting to flush his remaining cards down the drain!!
Which, as it were, was against the rules. He would be severely punished if caught.

Riley and Thankful Jerry came back into the room. But Jerry went off to the corner of the lounge where he was looking like something between defeated and grateful. He was looking down, lost in his thoughts, waiting for the game to end so he could move on.
I seek out Akiyama and ask him for a game, "I heard you were offering a game for two stars?"
Akiyama: "I sure am. You willing to lose two of your stars?"
He puts his card on the table nonchalantly, locking it in. The only thing you knew is that he was also up to something, considering he was talking to Boris beforehand. It seemed as though they were in cahoots in some manner. It seems the tough guy act was hard for this one to drop.
Randa approached someone (Boris) and said "Well, hmm, I'm Randa. Do you want to play?"
Boris: "Eh, the new guy huh? Well, we are on even playing field. Hmm..?" He seemed to eye the low amount of cards you had. This transaction he saw before, but didn't think much of it. Now that he was going to play against you, he seemed to think of you as the easiest target next to Jerry.
"Which card do you have? All of one kind, one of each? Heheh, wouldn't that be fun." He put down a card and was ready to lock it in. He definitely still had 1 Scissors he didn't play, but he had triple as many cards you didn't know about. He wasn't giving you anything, but he was certainly underestimating you, so maybe he was playing carelessly and comfortably, as if he didn't need to change up anything. Maybe something you say could change his mind, but he seemed pretty sure about what he wanted to play.
