If it is confusing to follow the story, let me know. This is test fanfiction. I was inspired by Wyoko to make one. The structure is set up as a story within a story also known as "frame story." It was used in "Frankenstein" by Mary Shelley. I will have you know, I am not good at making stories. I like to recycle them. If it feels too rushed, too detailed, too little, etc, let me know. Pardon my grammar and sentence structure. Give suggestions.
Introduction:
"So tell me, son. What happened?" "What happened? What do you mean?" "You want to know what happened?... Well then.."
Twelve dead bodies. One shaking in fear. Police have located and found the students early morning. Police say that they are the missing students that triggered a widespread search since September 13, 1993. It was a shocking, yet tragic discovery. Eight people have been brought to questioning, five people were release from questioning. As of now, there are no suspects. If anyone has any leads or information about this tragic incident, please call 913. This is Virginia Leona for All-Eye news reporting in Long Island, New York.
In other news, local police department are-
"Ugh, it makes me sick," I said. "They're only fifteen years old. And plus the reporter just smiled, how is that worth smiling?" I was getting ready to leave for school. It's been three weeks since school started. I was starting my sophomore year in my high school. So far, I made many new friends last year, and joined really good clubs like the Mystery Club. Second year should be good.
The moment I arrived on the platform of the morning train, I noticed this girl who had the same uniform. I have never seen her before, but she looked really pretty. She had black hair, light smooth skin, and dark, but shiny eyes. They were almost like baby eyes. She sat across from me in the subway, but as the train started moving, I closed my eyes to take a short nap. When my stop was here, I opened my eyes only to see her eyes looking at mine for a second, and then she got up and left.
"Hey, Kael. Morning," whispered my friend, Dan. "You saw the news right?" "You watched the news?" I chuckled. "Screw off, man. Yes, I do. But seriously, dude, this morning was some sick PUPPIES." "Yea, it made me shiver because we live near Long Island... and the killer is still on the loose." Dan and I were discussing what would happen if we were in their situation until the PA system screeched.
"Damn it, my ear-" "Good morning, students of Tesla High School, I would like to address to victims of the incident that happened this morning... This morning, the police have found the missing students from Edison High School, but sadly, they have met with terrible fate. Only one survived. We would like to take a moment of silence to remember those of the tragic event." There was a one minute silence. Everyone bowed their head and closed their eyes as I peaked up. The silence was really depressing. One minute felt like a whole class. "Thank you." Silence filled the air again.
Chapter I
Class had begun, and the teacher started roll call, but there was one name he repeated three times: Chloe Emile. "Here," a cute, yet mature voice boasted. The same girl appeared. She went to the desk and left a note on the table. The teacher had a shocked look on his face, but told the girl to sit down. That explains the mystery of the empty desk.
"Yo, dude, that girl finally came! She is probably one of those girls who played hooky." Dan happily bragged. "Chloe? Nah, we don't know that.. Pfft what if she was the survivor?" We both laughed, but Chloe walked by me, and I noticed a smile. As soon as she went through the door, she turned to her left as her eye looked at me. Though, it was creepy, I was distracted by the fact that she was really pretty.
Lunch time came, and I climbed to the roof. That's where I usually eat. I know right. The roof! You usually see this type of stuff in an anime or manga. Anyways, yeah it is where I eat. It was raining and dark, but there was an area I can stay safe in case of rain or snow. I watched the rain as I ate my food and listened to my music on my phone. I noticed a dark shadowy figure out in the rain. It was shape of a human with an umbrella. It turned around and reveal itself to me. It was Chloe, smiling. At me. She walked torwards my direction and sat next to me.
"Hello, I'm Chloe," she said quietly. "I'm.. Kael." "I know." I was a bit surprised. "Uhm.. how?" I asked. "We went to the same middle school together. Don't you remember?" It took a while for me to remember. "I left the United States around 5th grade?" "Oh yes! Yes, yes, I remember now. Where did you go?" "I was suppose to go to Australia, but my mom suffered a stroke, so we had to cancel the flight. The money was expensive, so I couldn't return to school. Luckily, my uncle was a teacher in college, so he taught me well." I looked at her with some sympathy. "Oh, don't look sad, I'm happy now. My life is going well now." I smiled back with relief. "Sorry.. I didn't say anything. I was a bit lost for words." She nodded as if she said "It's alright," or "Don't worry."
"To answer your question. It's true." She happily blurted. "What question?" I questioned. "'Pfft what if she was the survivor?'" I looked at her with dismay. She looked at me with some seriousness. Silence filled the air. At first, I thought she was joking, but this seriousness.. this silence, it's no joke. I looked at her, but turned away. I started sweating. Chloe guffawed. "You should have seen the look at your face, oh God! I'm just screwing with you." She got up and started walking to the stairway. She stopped and turned. It was too dark to see her face, but all I could see was something white. It was in a shape of a human smile. The lightened smile disappeared.
"Do you have a glass of water?" I asked. "Here you go." I broke the glass and tried to ram it into my neck, but I hesitated. "Please, son, please.. we want to know what happened.. lower your glass, killing yourself doesn't end it." "The smile, the smile, the smile.." "What about the smile, son? What about it?" "The smile.. I can't remove it from my head!" "Easy, relax, and tell us your story from beginning. It might help you." "The moment.. I saw.. the smile.."

Chapter II
The moment I saw the smile, I thought it was one of the most beautiful smile you could imagine. She had one of those rare smiles that made you feel like nothing horrible was going on. A smile, no, the smile that made you feel that you were being understood. It made me believed. Believed in a dream I once sought. Happiness. What if her smile was the key to my happiness? That's what everyone says. But really, what if?
Once I heard the bell rang, I got up, packed my lunch, and head downstairs. Second roll call started, and something had stopped me. "Chloe Emile? Chloe Emile? Chloe Emile?" the teacher yelled.
"Maybe, she's in the bathroom?" One student replied. I'd like to think that too. It wasn't that long between the time she left and the the time the bell had rang. I got up to my seat and asked the teacher if I could use the bathroom. He was pestering me why I should go, and I replied about having him to hold my PUPPIES. With a disgusted face, he gave me the pass, and I went back to the roof. No one. The red sky began to rain. It almost looked like blood drops.
"Ugh, such an ugly weather." I turned around. Suddenly, I was knocked off my feet. A figure appeared to me. It was almost the same figure from the rain.
"Hello, Kael." A soft-spoken voice jested. It was Chloe. "What are you doing here?" She asked.
I stared at her for a couple of seconds. Realizing that moment, I blurted out. "Uhh, well, I was looking for you because the teacher was-" But I was cut off.
"The teacher isn't looking for me." She declared. Chloe closed her eyes and smiled at me. There it is, that rare smile.
"What do you mean? The teacher was yel-" Again I was cut off.
"The teacher isn't looking for me. I do not exist. At least, to them." She insisted.
"Them?" I whispered. Did she mean the class? I grabbed Chloe by the arm and led her to the class room.
"Ah, welcome back, Kael. Take your seat." The way the teacher said it was a bit odd. It was almost monotonous. There was a dull look on his face. It was almost as if he was half-dead. As I walked to my seat, no one noticed Chloe at all. I was a bit disturbed. After the bell rang, Chloe left the classroom before anyone else. I went to my group of friends, so we could hang out. As I recommended a place, no one replied. No one looked at me. Nothing. I tried moving their arms. I even punched them. One of my friends started to feel pain real bad.
"What happened?!" yelled my friend.
"I don't know, but it feels too painful. Maybe I've overused it. If you know what I mea- Ough, damn it." The friends laughed, but they had to take him to the nurse's office. And then I realized, I was alone in the classroom. There was no sound, but the pouring rain in the background. The classroom was filled with illumination of red.
"It seems like you don't exist anymore." My fist tightened. "What are you going to do?" I was filled with despair. I didn't looked at Chloe. I closed my eyes for a second hoping that this was all a dream, but to no avail. When I opened them, I let go of my fist.
I looked at Chloe. She was still smiling. How could she smile through all of this? She was ignored by everyone, and then there is me. How could she be smiling? Did she feel alone before? Was I the one who broke her pain? I'm not too sure. Maybe I am over thinking. Was it fate that I am with Chloe? No, it was too cliche to say. But really, what if..
"But really, what if..." I muttered repeatedly.
"What if.. what?" The officer asked. I broke down in tears and slammed my fist in the table. I was too distracted by the trauma that I couldn't feel the pain in my hand. I was crying profusely. My hands covering my head. The tears rolling down my cheek and into the desk. The officer put his hand on my shoulder until I stopped crying.
"I'm sorry," I slurred. "Allow me to continue." I wiped the tears in my face.
"No, son, take a rest first."
"No! Let me finish my story." I barked. "Just please, let me tell my story... while I am still sane."
"Ok. You can continue now. If you need to rest, feel free to do so."
"And so.. I asked her.."
Chapter III
And so I asked her, "Do you want to walk home together.. ?" At that moment, I was filled with loneliness. I never thought I would have the real feeling of actual loneliness. It hurts. It felt like thousands of shards pierced into my chest. It also felt heavy. I sighed abnormally.
"Of course, I was waiting for you." She giggled. At that moment, I felt that rare smile on my face. I couldn't see it, but I could feel it. It felt warm. It was like the loneliness forest being burned by the smiling fire. I felt free. At least at that moment.
I didn't have an umbrella, but Chloe did. We shared the yellow umbrella, taking turns holding it. We had small talks, but after that, complete silence. I hated silence, but walking with her was powerful and loud enough.
I started to feel weak. My vision began to fade. Chloe started to panic, and I grabbed onto her. She gently put me down and threw the umbrella away. The ground felt wet. I was such a health freak; I didn't want to get pneumonia. I started to blank out. The last moment of vision, I saw a shadowy man and woman coming towards us. It got bigger and bigger. My eyes began to close, but the screams began to open. I could hear Chloe's scream, and then it got silent. What happened to me? Why was everything black? Why couldn't I hear anything? I really hated silence.
I woke up in a room. The first thing I saw was a light. They were bright blue. I turned to my left side, and I see Chloe in tears and holding my hand. I touched her head, and she lifted it up. She smiled and hugged me.
"Kael, you're okay! H-how do you feel?" She asked. Her baby eyes looked at mine, and I felt like I was hypnotized.
"I feel fine." I felt as if all my strength returned to me. "What happened.. ? Where are we?" I looked around the room. It was almost like a hotel room. There was a vintage TV, a study desk, a bathroom door, a closet, a mirror, and a weapon. The weapon looked like a sword. Why was there a sword?
"I don't know. I lost consciousness, and when I woke up, I was in a room like this one. Apparently, we have rooms. There were other doors, too; all had names. I found yours right away because you were across from mine." She elaborated. She was shaking, but still smiling.
"Are you okay, Chloe?" I stressed. She nodded her head. She got up her chair and walked to me.
"We should check the outside, too," insisted Chloe. I nodded my head in agreement, and I opened the door. We walked around until we found a notice board: "Please come to the auditorium." We took the map from the board, and followed the directions. As soon as we entered the room, a group of people stopped talking and looked at us with nervousness. I counted eleven people in the room. After a quick second, they turned back to their talking.
Noticing their faces, they looked about our age. One girl greeted us. "Hi, my name is Maaaaa- aaay the force be with you!" She was incredibly short, maybe 4'6. She had a child-like appearance almost like Chloe's, but she had longer hair. We introduced ourselves, and she gave us a wink, and left. She seemed too happy.
I looked at this man. He looked pretty old, but he noticed me too. He went up to me. "Waddahail are ya looking at? Huh?!" He had a scar on the right side of his face. No doubt, he was a delinquent.
I backed away. "Oh no, nothing! I was.. I was looking around." I insisted.
"Well, Jhonny's not gonna have a man look at me like that!" He pulled my shirt. "Look at me, again!" A man stepped in, and pulled his arm. Jhonny pulled back in pain. He was dressed in a suit and tie, but he had Nike sneakers on.
"Excuse me, it was obviously a mistake. He didn't mean to look at you, Jhon-boy." He looked at me. "Hello, my name is Philip, and you couples are?"
"Couples? Us? No we're-"
"Hello, my name is Chloe. And this is Kael," blurted Chloe.
"Ah, nice to make acquiantances with you two. Since you two came late, I will tell you the names of each person here." He started to point. "That one is May, this one is Jhonny, Damien, Ian, Klayton, Stephon, Gabrielle, Isabelle, Edward, and Adrianne."
I was incredibly impressed. It seems like he could be the leader. He had a great charismatic personality in him. I smiled a bit, but Chloe seemed to notice it. She pulled my arm hard, but the lights became dimmed. A laugh rose. It was almost like a toy laugh. Elmo? I don't know.
A voice shouted. "Welcome everyone! I hope you made your friends already."
Ian yelled, "What the hell is happening here!?"
"Yea, what the Kittens!, man?!" shouted Jhonny.
"Let us out!!" cried Isabelle.
"Quiet the Kittens! down!" bellowed the voice. "Jeez, it's like babysitting kid- I mean, you have been selected to participate in a game! A very special game."
"What game?" asked Philip.
"Allow me to explain the rules and information of the game. There is a wolf among you. This wolf is in disguise as a rabbit. You are the little rabbits. It is up to you to figure out who is the wolf. If you don't, the wolf will kill all of you. Hahaha! You will have 24 hours to decide who is the wolf and hang them. However, if you decided to hang the innocent, he/she will have a useless death, but if you catch the wolf, then there will be rewards. The first victim is..."
The lights went out. We couldn't see anyone or anything, but all we heard was a scream. It was a female scream. The light went on, and there was blood everywhere. A female has been murdered. Many screamed, others were too sick to do anything due to the gore.
"The first victim is Gabrielle. She lived a good life with friends. A rich popular student. Good luck to all, and one more thing... Welcome to Rabbit Doubt Games."
Everyone was filled with fear as the voice began to laugh hysterically. Others were crying. I noticed Chloe's face on my back. Her eyes were wide. She was shaking heavily. That rare smile no longer exists. She murmured something, but it was heard to hear.
"Again.." was all I could hear.
